White House senior economist Christina Romer said on Sunday that the U.S. jobless rate could go up before it goes down.
It could well,” Romer, the chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, told NBC television network’s “Meet the Press” when asked about the jobless forecast. “These things certainly do bounce around. I would anticipate some bumps in the road as we go ahead,” she said.
