Producers and artists are making people nervous with their tweets. The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences officials are growing increasingly nervous about Adam Shankman’s (who has 50,000 followers) tweets.
Shankman (twitter handle: @adammshankman), a judge for Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” is one of the producers for the Academy’s 82nd Annual Academy Awards scheduled for March 7th 2010. He tweeted on December 6th:
“Curious: what and who do u wanna see on the Oscars? What would make u watch?”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he also tweeted “If Rob [Pattison] and Kristen [Stewart] (of Twilight Saga fame) present an award together, or even just Kristen since she wasn’t invited (rude!) last yr, I’d 4 sure watch!” But, this tweet has been deleted!
Is Shankman revealing too much, potentially setting off a wave of spoilers inside the industry? An even better question: should the Academy and other industry giants have the power to monitor and control twitter pages? You be the judge…
