News Corp. and Microsoft — Possible Partners?
Can News Corp. flout Google, team up with Microsoft and still make money?

According to this article in The Wall Street Journal, News Corp. is in negotiations with Microsoft over carrying its newspaper content on Microsoft sites while blocking Google access. There’s a possibility News Corp. could charge Microsoft for the privilege. No matter how the talks turn out, this situation raises interesting ideas about valuable revenue streams and the effect of limiting search access to news content. If News Corp. can make this alternative partnership work while ignoring the search giant, it may become a model for other media companies.
