Head of Twitter Calls Murdoch on His Pipe Dream
Twitter’s Biz Stone blasts Murdoch’s vision for the future

The guardian.co.uk reported that Twitter co-founder Biz Stone said Rupert Murdoch’s plan to charge for content and block Google from pulling News International content was an attempt to “put the genie in the bottle.” Stone’s dismissal of Murdoch’s scheme represents an attempt to change the status quo. Murdoch’s supremacy dissolves if his companies lose money, but Stone has a point: readers are less willing to pay for content, and even media moguls like Murdoch could go under if they don’t realize it.
