WHAT: Information session to learn about Village Voice Media with interviews to follow

WHAT: Two-Day Final Cut Pro Workshop. In this two-day intensive workshop, participants will learn how to use Final Cut Pro to tell compelling multimedia stories. They will leave with the skills and techniques necessary to edit professional-quality videos and slideshows with audio.

WHERE: Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, 2950 Broadway, New York
Overview: Participants will receive hands-on instruction in a small class setting. Each student will have his/her own workstation, equipped with the latest version of Final Cut Pro.  Students will learn to capture footage, import images, text and audio files, edit from larger clips and trim footage in a timeline. Participants will also learn how to mix audio levels, create text, animate images and export video for broadcast or the Web.
Course Requirements: This class requires participants to be comfortable working with computers at an intermediate level, as well as with new software.  No previous video production or Final Cut Pro knowledge is necessary.
