Pay For Content? The Pros Duke It Out

Everyone in media is waiting for the next best thing.
In October in New York City, the dilemma of how news will make its money was tossed to top journalists and news execs.
John Squires, vice-president of Time Inc. says mobile apps will save the day. But they all agree that what pays is original content. News that is widely available on company Web sites is out. There was also talk of a consortium of media orgs charging for content.
John Squires puts it best: “In the end you need to have the guts to say, ‘my content is worth something,’”
